Online Dating Tips - Joining Online Dating Services
by sarina methot - Thursday, 6 December 2007, 10:31 PM
Anyone in the world

By John Tiniakos Online dating is quickly becoming a large virtual meeting place for singles from all walks of life. Because of today's fast paced society coupled with the growing number of Internet users, online dating offers a logical, convenient and inexpensive way for singles wanting to meet, chat or interact. More and more singles are finding real relationships, with minimal risk and only a small investment of their time - some of which end up in marriage. Online Dating Tips: Begin slowly - Be on guard when someone seems too good to be true. - Start communicating by text messaging or email first. Protect Your Anonymity - Don't give out your last name, your real email address, home address, workplace, or any identifying info from your profile. Make sure your email signature file doesn't contain any identifying info or is turned off. - Stop talking to anyone who keeps insisting you give him this info. - Take as much time as is required to feel comfortable with someone before you give out any personal info. - Ask as many questions as you like and be sure you are satisfied with the replies. - Go with your gut instinct; move slowly and wisely; you can be as selective as you like. - Cautious decisions that are well thought out will usually produce more favorable results in online dating. - Be careful not to trust someone that is not worthy of your trust. A suitor must earn you trust by being honorable and up-front on a consistent basis. - Be responsible with your online (dating) behavior and romances. Don't rush into premature intimacy with someone online take your time. Although these precautions may sound a little scary, they are not meant to discourage you at all from online dating. However, these measures should be taken to protect your privacy, so that your personal information doesnt get into the wrong hands. Ask For A Photograph - A photo will give you a good idea on the appearance of the person and adds another dimension to your perception of them. Most online dating sites allow you to upload pictures. Seeing several pictures of the subject in different settings and angles is even better. If they aren't willing to provide a picture it means they have something to hide. Talk On the Telephone A telephone conversation can show you a person's communication skills and give you a better feel of their character. Be sure, however not to give your phone number to a stranger. Block your caller ID, or use a pay phone initially. Only reveal your telephone number when you feel completely at ease with the person. By following these precautions you will be better prepared to actually go out on a physical date when you feel you are ready. The Ease of Using a Motorized Wheelchair to Improve Mobility

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mike_Yeager] Mike Yeager No person likes to feel housebound and dependent on others. While people who have been injured or suffering from a debilitating disease may not have full functionality of their motor skills, it is still possible for them to be semi-independent and mobile with motorized wheelchairs and other home medical equipment. It cant be over emphasized how critical that sense of independence can be. Quality, dependable Motorized Wheelchairs and other home medical equipment are the means of transportation that many people choose as their way to get around. There are so many different Motorized Wheelchairs available on the market that its hard to know where to start. Here are some suggestion when looking at different Motorized Wheelchairs: * Pediatric Motorized Wheelchairs and other home medical equipment are generally deigned to be mobile and safe for young users. * Heavy duty Motorized Wheelchairs are for large patients that weigh more than average yet require the ability to get around. * Some Motorized Wheelchairs come with reclining backs and others can be easily folded to fit into a standard car trunk. While Motorized Wheelchairs and other home medical equipment are an adjustment for the user they do provide that person with the ability to get around and maintain some, or even all of their independence. Proper Etiquette and Tips For Your Wedding Invitations
by sarina methot - Wednesday, 5 December 2007, 03:45 AM
Anyone in the world

By L Hayes Many couples are opting for the traditional engraved invitation, as deeply rooted a custom as entering the church to the music of Wagner and leaving to Mendelsson. Despite the many other wedding traditions that have changed, this style of invitation has prevailed since the late 1800's, according to leading manufacturers and suppliers of wedding invitations. The top selling wedding invitations of today don't look much different than they did 100 years ago. With the exception of the 1970s, when couples sought unconventional invitations with bright colors and creative wordings, the traditional engraved invitation has been the most popular choice. The engraving process embosses letters into the paper, creating a raised look and feel to the surface. The lettering, usually engraved on cream or white cotton-content paper is most often royal or classical script. The design is simple and the wording standard, according to traditional rules of etiquette. There are many traditions associated with marriage. The engraved invitation is one of them. Wedding invitations set the mood, style and tone of the wedding. For many couples who have conventional church weddings, the traditional invitation is most appropriate. Tiffany & Co., the internationally renowned luxury goods supplier and oldest stationary company in America, is a firm believer in the traditional invitation. The company has strict guidelines for the design and wording of the invitations they produce and will only sell invitations deemed "proper" by traditional standards. Only as recently as five years ago did Tiffany & Co. begin putting reply cards and envelopes into their sample books. According to rules of proper etiquette, recipients of wedding invitations are supposed to send a handwritten letter of response to the bride and groom within 24 hours. However, the company decided to add the reply cards and envelopes to their product line because contemporary society has not been conditioned to letter writing. Without the reply cards the bride has no assurance of total guest turnout. Tiffany & Co. has also had to adapt traditional wording of invitations to accommodate all family structures such as families with only one parent, divorced parents, etc. In addition to modifying the wording, today's invitation can be designed to express one's individuality without breaking tradition. Many couples are requesting embossed borders or motifs to accent the traditional invitation. Adding a ribbon or embossing a personal monogram or family crest are other ways to customize the invitation without compromising the integrity that the traditional engraved invitation conveys. Etiquette 'experts' also agree that the traditional engraved invitation is the most proper form of wedding correspondence. It is far better to write personal letters or inform your friends of your marriage by phone than to have your invitations printed rather than properly engraved. According to these experts, do it right or don't do it at all. The rich quality and elegant look of the traditional invitation is the best way for brides to tell family and friends that their presence is greatly valued on this important occasion. For the bride who wants to be absolutely proper and follow the rules of traditional social etiquette, following are some of the guidelines - Invitations should always be engraved. - The paper selected should be white, or ivory, 100 cotton content paper. - The most traditional lettering is script. There are many styles to choose from. - In the strictest of traditional standards, the groom's parents should never be listed on the invitation along with the bride's. - If divorced parents are both sponsoring their daughter's wedding, names should be listed with the mother's preceding, followed by the father's on the next line. - For a conventional church wedding, the wording of the invitation should read "request the honor of your presence". - For a wedding ceremony that is to be performed somewhere other than a church, the invitation should read "request the pleasure of your company". - The place of the reception should never be written on the invitation itself unless the wedding ceremony is taken place there. - There is no need to put the year of the wedding on the invitation because it is a timely event. Finally, if proper etiquette is important to you, you should follow these rules. Keep in mind that slight variations will not mean the end of the world. After all, it is your wedding day and you should do what you feel is best for your individual situation. L Hayes is a wedding professional and owner of Wedding Favors Emporium. Entering The Hungarian Pharmaceutical Industry
by sarina methot - Tuesday, 4 December 2007, 01:22 AM

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jonathon_Hardcastle] Jonathon Hardcastle During the last decade, the introduction of new innovations in Hungary has led to the restructuring of a variety of sectors, such as the pharmaceutical industry. The most successful examples of testing new approaches to conducting business can be found in developed markets such as the United States and Europe. The commonly found work ethics of employees and business managers in these developed economies have made it possible for firms to employ new measures and explore new markets. As the Hungarian market opens to new opportunities, Hungarian firms will have a unique opportunity to expand their business in a favorable economy. Through the research provided, opportunities for growth can be recognized and capitalized upon through specific strategies in both business as well as public and government affairs. The current economic, social and legal environment in Hungary coupled with the goals of its current government, offers foreign pharmaceutical companies a formidable, yet optimistic business prospect. The end-goal of the strategies foreign players introduce is to open the remaining restrictive policies in favor of their business plan. The tactics they will select will allow pharmaceutical companies to extend their business through the establishment of new stores. In order to fully understand the obstacles these companies will face upon realizing their ultimate goals, one must first review Hungary's current policies and economic environment. Furthermore, by reviewing past business as well as public and government affairs approaches, the foreign pharmaceutical companies interested to enter the Hungarian environment can utilize lessons learned in creating new strategies for success. Particularly for medical insurance, it is worth mentioning that its role in Hungary has not yet been clearly defined. While the concept of supplemental health insurance has been accepted as a matter of policy, the structure for such insurance programs has yet to be worked out. According to a recent government assessment for the European Union (EU), the system of co-payment will be extended. The Health Insurance Fund will continue to provide basic insurance, which will be supplemented by voluntary health insurance. The latter has been in place for years, but has remained insignificant because of the limited coverage of co-payments. Various life and health insurance policies are available from a number of international insurance companies with operations in Hungary. Other forms of risk-bearing entities, particularly health maintenance organizations (HMOs), are currently being tested in ten centers around the country. Their number is expected to increase based on the favorable results so far. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sandy_Baker]Sandy Baker Mobile gaming is not really something new. Games have been on phones for a long while. They started out on some of the earliest mobile phones as very simple, very ordinary games. Today, the mobile game industry is much larger, encompassing hundreds of different games all of which can be played virtually anyplace that you are. For those that love to keep something to do no matter where they are going, this is the way to do it. Mobile games are vast and there are hundreds of different types that you can take advantage of. For those who are after something with tons of graphics and color, there are a large amount of new games, just like these being added to the collection each day. For those who are looking for a quick game to tide them over at the doctors office, well, those are available in all sorts of styles as well. Why the big thrill anyway? Why are mobile games such a big deal? For many, this is not something that they think twice about. They really dont care what games are on their phones. But, for others it is quite important. It is necessary for those that want to have the ability to play a game to be able to do so at anytime that they want to. Mobile gaming is an amazing thing because it connects people with things they love to do any place that they go. There is no doubt that the mobile gaming industry will continue to grow. There will be even more graphics and high quality sound effects. There will be more linking to your buddy to play. There will be more internet based games to get your fill of. And, really, it is pretty cool to be able to tell your friends that you have the latest and greatest game on your mobile phone now, isnt it? A True Angelic Story
by sarina methot - Tuesday, 27 November 2007, 02:37 AM

By Elaine K. Stephen Many years ago my Mom died when I was only 12 years old. Naturally this was devastating for me. Every time a new occasion arose I felt a stab of pain deep in my heart. When my father gave me a key to the house, the door was never locked before because Mom was always home to greet me when I returned home from school, the first Mother's Day, the first Thanksgiving, I had to cook the turkey that year, the first Christmas, the list goes on and on. As the years passed, naturally the pain subsides and you come to believe, through many prayers to God and Jesus Christ. you have learned to live with the reality. Getting engaged when I was 23 years old was a joyous occasion for me. As the wedding plans were being formulated and the date drew closer and closer, I started to feel that old familiar stab of pain deep in my heart because my Mother was not going to be sitting in the first row. This was a major event in my life and I felt cheated! Not only that but I thought I would walk down the isle crying and ruin the whole event! About a week before my wedding I prayed to God and Jesus Christ to ease my pain and take away my anger so I wouldn't ruin my wedding day. I prayed hard and long with my eyes closed and then it happened! A bright light, very small at first growing larger and closer, revealed a vision of my Mother's face. In my mind I heard her speak, "I will be with you, rejoicing with you on your wedding day." Then the light grew smaller until it diapered all together. I immediately opened my eyes and very excitedly told my fiance, who was sitting on the other couch in the same room with me, what had just happened! Words could not then nor can they now describe the happiness, love, comfort and peace that filled my heart and my spirit when God allowed my Mother to come to me. Needless to say, I walked down the isle with a smile on my face, happiness in my heart and a comforted spirit, not only because my mother was with me, but because through God and Jesus Christ my prayers were answered during my hour of greatest need. Non-spiritual or non-Christians may say I fell asleep and dreamed this event. Let me explain, I have dreamed of my Mother many times since her death both before and after God and Jesus Christ sent my Mother to comfort me. I know when I have been sleeping and not. When ever I dream about my Mother I see her whole body and not just her face, there is realistic scenery not bright light and in my dreams my Mother never speaks to me or anyone. One religious man who read my story emailed me and told me that according to the Bible, my true story could not possibly have occurred. While I am a Christian, I am not a Bible scholar, never-the-less, I know my story is true just as I have written it. Elaine K. Stephen

Family Concerns: When a Parent Can't Work
by sarina methot - Monday, 26 November 2007, 03:47 AM
Anyone in the world

By Elizabeth Newberry Weve all faked a sick day or two in order to get some extra sleep and recuperate after a night of celebration, to get some last minute shopping done, or to pamper ourselves at a local spa. Go ahead, admit it. The boss isnt watching. And while these little discrepancies arent exactly worthy of major guilt or fear of job termination everyone needs a break now and then, right? they could cost you some money in the long run. But, sometimes that night out with your old college roommate you havent seen in a few years is worth it. All secrets aside, there are times when you actually need to take a few days, weeks, or even months off from work. These are the times when you are actually sick, or even injured, to the degree that you cant make it to work, or be very productive even if you could. To protect yourself against these times, you should consider purchasing disability insurance.
Many employees have family concerns, i.e., bills to pay and mouths to feed. Without a substantial supplemental income during the time theyre off work, it can be quite difficult to meet these family concerns. Sure, there are programs such as workers compensation and Social Security that can lend a financial hand when you find yourself too sick, injured, or disabled to work for a certain amount of time. And some employers even offer disability insurance for a low cost, or no cost, to their employees. However, each of these kinds of programs are usually very limited in the financial assistance they dole out, and recipients of the financial assistance must meet certain qualifications before they are considered unable to work for a period of time. Dont rely solely on your employer or government programs to help you and your family in your time of need. Put your family concerns to rest by purchasing a disability insurance policy. Tips to Help Top Marketers Get Up and Fight in the Face of Failure
by sarina methot - Sunday, 25 November 2007, 06:18 AM
Anyone in the world

By Bill Fritsch Heres a true story to shine a light on what can happen to top marketers in the face of failure. Details have been changed to protect the innocent. The Alpha Company has recently brought in a new marketing department head to drive revenues. Three months ago, company leaders sought outside counsel to reduce the marketing budget by 25% to compensate for downward trending revenues. Advisors said the lower budget could work if several marginal programs were cut and all remaining dollars were focused on the most important market segments. Upon arrival, the marketing leader is confronted with entrenched programs and people resistant to change. To new eyes, it is hard to spot the sacred cows because the organization does a poor job of tracking results. Another department head served as interim marketing leader and is not at all happy to lose the responsibility. Rather than help the new person sort things out, he makes it his job to alert the CEO about missteps the new marketing leader makes. This, in turn, makes the new marketing leader less willing to take risks. As a result, the 25% cut in the marketing budget is across the board, and the programs that can most likely improve financial results are rendered 25% less effective. Revenues decline fast. New marketing leader is under tremendous pressure just two months into her new job. Everyone who has been in marketing for any length of time has faced failure. Success and failure are close companions. Smart companies realize this and encourage a certain amount of marketing experimentation. Test markets are just that -- a way to try bold new things. The best marketing people are aggressive by nature and willing to stand up to corporate pressures that would eliminate risk and good ideas. What marks exceptional people and organizations is not whether they can avoid failure, but how they tackle it when it comes. Like our new marketing leader, you may also face a really tough situation. Here are some ways to get back on track from someone who has faced the possibility of serious failure a few times. Pick Yourself Up. Our tendency is to focus on consequences at the point we are confronting truly difficult circumstances. Focus on what you would do if fear wasnt standing in your way. Fear clouds judgment and suppresses creativity required to solve the problem. Change Course. The one great thing about failure is that it has a stopping point. No organization will sit still for long when confronted with big problems. In an odd sort of way, failure opens doors that success seldom does. Management is more willing to change course and try new things. People who are obstructionist tend to stand out more and are easier to sweep aside. At the failure point, there is more risk in maintaining the status quo than in doing bold things. This is when true leaders emerge. Assess Available Resources. The new marketing leader in our story has a big challenge to drive revenue with a small remaining budget. Her first order of business is to assess what is left and to reprioritize everything. This should then be compared with a strong plan of action to change the outcome by having the courage to make tough calls. Let Truth Be the Guide. Marketing failures are often due to inadequate budgets in the first place. In todays cost-saving business environment, marketing department budgets are easy trim targets. When goals are being met, it is easy to take a dont-rock-the-boat attitude when fighting for resources. At point of failure though, an honest assessment of required resources is vital to reverse the failure. In our story, new marketing leader has little to risk and much to gain by demanding more money. Involve the Whole Team. At failure point, many people tend to hide the facts from the very people who can change the outcomes. Resist the tendency. This is the time to gather the team and lay truth on the line. Rather than increase fear, this move actually disperses anxiety. Everyone knows things are not going as planned and shares concern about consequences. Give your team members a chance to shape the solution with their own great ideas. Most important of all, believe in yourself and stick to the job until the problem is solved. 1st Textbook on Sleep Psychiatry
by sarina methot - Saturday, 24 November 2007, 08:11 AM
Anyone in the world

By Nikos Linardakis An informative textbook confirming a newly established field: Sleep Psychiatry Book Review by Nikos M. Linardakis, M.D. The fascinating world of sleep has achieved more clinical research inquiries over the past few decades. However, Sleep Psychiatry has become a newly established subspecialty in sleep medicine. It affords a need for a much-awaited textbook on sleep psychiatry. Every physician has been exposed to patients with a chief complaint of sleep deprivation or a sleep disorder of another kind. This is the first textbook in the field of sleep psychiatry, and presents a comprehensive coverage of topics that will undoubtedly introduce and expand on new discoveries in the near future. This peer-reviewed textbook is a masterful and detailed presentation of sleep psychiatry. Dr. Alexander Golbin's editorial presentation of important concepts and the scientific exploration into the world of sleep psychiatry is an example of a skilled educator, and a leading research and clinical physician. My favorite chapters are those that cover the sleep-wake cycles and the effect on daytime alertness and behavior. The most important of all discoveries about sleep was the recognition that sleep is not a passive state of rest, but a complicated and active cyclic process. Of equal importance, normal sleep was recognized as the foundation for normal alertness, and abnormal sleep as the foundation for abnormal alertness and psychiatric problems. This probability is evaluated and confirmed in research papers showing significant advantage to sleep-alertness relationships. The new book Sleep Psychiatry, written by an international team of experts and published in England by Taylor & Francis /CRC Group, for the first time, categorizes and reviews published and original research data. Sleep Psychiatry presents this information and forms comprehensive concepts of physiological origin and discusses the basis of psychiatric problems, establishing a new field of sleep medicine-Sleep Psychiatry. Twenty-eight chapters of the book, although written for specialists, are clear and simple, in reader-friendly style, and present multiple facts from internationally recognized researchers. It is a highly informative and useful resource. Among other topics, the authors convincingly present, review and confirm major conclusions: 1. Sleep is a physiological basis for normal daytime mental and emotional functions. 2. During the early development in infancy, the brain mechanism of sleep developed first and became a foundation for the development of normal alertness, attention and productive wakefulness. 3. If sleep mechanisms are deviated in early childhood, it may lead to attention, alertness and emotional problems later on in life. 4. Sleep is a healing, compensatory and recovery state. 5. Sleep, if abnormal, may trigger sickness and even death. 6. Treatment of sleep pathology may help in the treatment of some medical and psychiatric disorders. Sleep Psychiatry was written as a global collaboration, with chapter authors from several university and research institutions. Among many interesting concepts, presented in this book are: the "search activity" by Dr. Vadim Rotenberg from Israel, an evolutionary approach to human sleep development by Dr. Alexander Shepovalnikov from Russia, an adaptive theory of parasomnias and sleep origin of daytime habits by Dr. Alexander Golbin from the USA, and the dangerous and forensic aspects of sleep by USA-Canadian research teams. The quality of print in the book also leverages the ability for a clinician, doctorate candidate or sleep researcher to enjoy the multitude of graphic presentations and important charts and tables. The earlier chapters in the book are somewhat broad; however, they introduce the reader to this new field. At times the text was missing some additional information that would clarify some voids and unknowns; though, later on in the book, each area was thoroughly covered and the reader is left with a feeling that the book was written to increase the appetite to read and learn more-unlike most textbooks; I was intrigued by every new chapter that brought with it a new understanding of a pioneering field. The last few decades and millions of dollars in research funding have produced an overwhelming amount of evidence to support the significant findings in sleep psychiatry. The book carefully presents these findings in a comprehensive and peer-reviewed format. Sleep Psychiatry is a fascinating and monumental work which will definitely elicit active discussions and further research to prove or disprove these interesting and fresh approaches for the discovery and understanding of the biologic, physiologic, and psychiatric benefits for millions of patients with sleep and psychiatric problems. I look forward to your review and an increase in the establishment of the field of Sleep Psychiatry. Sleep Psychiatry is sure to become "required reading" for all professionals in sleep medicine and in psychiatry.

Celebrate With Butterflies - The Flying Flowers

By Tammy Spivey Make your upcoming event the most memorable ever by adding butterflies to your special day. Butterfly Releases are a perfect way to celebrate all of the important occasions in life. They are wonderful additions to weddings, anniversaries, funerals, memorials, birthdays, holidays, ceremonies, and even corporate events. Since the butterfly symbolizes new beginnings, releasing butterflies is a wonderful way to add a special touch to celebrations. There is an old Indian legend that is often read at butterfly releases as the guests make a wish and release their butterflies. Each release will have its own unique memories and can become a tradition that is passed down from parent to child. Children and adults alike will marvel as the butterflies are released into the wild. Sometimes the butterflies fly right off and sometimes they linger - maybe to share a special moment with the one releasing them. Butterflies may be released in their own individual container or they may be released from a mass release container, depending on the occasion and the design you find most appealing. Butterflies should only be released outside on a sunny or overcast day with a temperature of around 70 degrees. A release held in a warm, sunny, flower filled area is best. Nature has given us many beautiful wonders. None are more spectacular and memorable than that of the butterfly in flight. Experience the extraordinary Release a bouquet of butterflies at your next celebration. Contact a butterfly farmer near you, inside your state (or nearby state if there is currently no butterfly farming operation in your state), to help you coordinate your extra special occasion for an absolutely beautiful butterfly release. www.butterflybreeders.com Tammy Spivey is the owner of http://www.butterfliesabound.com and is a proud member of the International Butterfly Breeders Association http://www.butterflybreeders.com.
