Home Equity Loan Specifics: Loan Terms, Cash Out Limits & Credit for Second Mortgages
by mary clemmons - Monday, 16 June 2008, 09:03 AM
Anyone in the world

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ambrose_Dan]Ambrose Dan How much can you Borrow? The question everyone applying for a loan wants the answer to is "how much do I qualify for? Depending on your credit score & the amount of your revolving debt, a few home equity lenders may let you borrow up to 100% of the appraised value of your home. When you apply for a loan online, always ask the lender about the terms for the home equity loan. How many years is the loan for? Is the interest rate fixed or variable? If you are applying for a home equity line of credit, discuss whether or not there is a minimum draw requirement at closing. Don't forget to find out about the accessibility. In other words, how do you access to your credit line? (ie. checks, credit card, etc.?) Ask the loan officer if after the draw period expires, whether or not it will you may be able to renew your credit line. If you cannot, find out if the interest rate will continue to be variable for the repayment period. If there are fixed rate options, get them. Verify with your loan officer that there is no balloon payment with the second mortgage. If there is, you may be required to pay off the entire outstanding balance, when the balloon payment is due. How much cash can you get out of your home? If you have good credit, and have for example $75,000 in equity, you should be able access the entire $75,000. There are quite a few home equity lenders that offer equity loans up to 100% of the appraised value of your home. A few brokers and lenders, like BD Nationwide Mortgage can offer you second mortgages up to 125% of home's appraised value. Typically 125% loans will have some cash out limits. Depending upon your credit score, 125% second mortgages will allow cash back between $25,000 and $75,000 in addition to the debt consolidation. 5 Stress Busters Every Student Needs Now
by mary clemmons - Thursday, 12 June 2008, 03:58 AM
Anyone in the world

By Maria Pascucci For high school and college students, stress is often inescapable. Between mounds of homework, that crappy retail job, work study, and trying to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life um, headache anyone? However, how we choose to deal with stress is totally within our control. If youre looking for some tips on how to lower your stress levels, read ahead: 1. Wage war with your mirror. Want to stress less about your body? Strip your mirrors power over you. Understand that how we see ourselves in a mirror determines how we see ourselves in every aspect of our lives. If we spend twenty minutes in front of a mirror criticizing every inch of our bodies, how can we possibly act confidently once we leave our bedrooms? Self-assured women and men know that self-love is the key to success. Tip: Stand in front of your mirror and say, I am beautiful flaws and all for as long as it takes you to believe it. 2. Dont overload your schedule. Whether that means cutting back on extracurricular activities, giving up your part-time job, or simply learning better time management skills, every student should find the right work/life balance that best suits your needs. Listen to your body. Itll tell you loud and clear if its being taxed. College students: Be especially careful not to take on too many classes in one semester. I double majored in English and History and picked up a minor in Writing. By my last semester of my senior year, I needed 18 credit hours to graduate on time. So I overloaded my schedule on top of working part-time. The stress was WAY too much and I cracked. 3. Stay out of the credit card trap. I know, I know. They keep sending you these great credit card offers in the mail with the promise of a free t-shirt and that book you need to buy for Chem. 1 is $120 and you just spent your last cent on dinner with friends the night before and your parents will shoot you if you call home to beg for more cash. Credit cards are tempting and theres nothing wrong with owning a couple as long as you exercise caution. Tip: Dont charge more than you know you can pay off when the bill is due. Otherwise, youll end up paying around 20% interest. Plus, if you simply pay the minimum payment (or worse, rack up late fees), that $60 jacket you charged six months ago will end up costing you way more than you ever imagined. Did you know that the average credit card debt owed by college students is about $2,700, with close to a quarter of students owing more than $3,000? About 10 percent owed more than $7,000! Thats not even including your student loans. Bottom Line: Pay cash whenever you can and keep your plastic on ice! 4. Catch up on some ZZZs. Did you know that sleep problems are generally the most common physical complaint of college students and of the rest of the general U.S. population? Of course you know this, as youre lying awake at night watching the clock! Maybe you didnt know that a lack of sleep could actually cause student anxiety and depression. Staying out all night on the weekends and then trying to get up early for class on Monday screws up your bodys biological clock and sets you up for insomnia. Advice: Try to go to bed around the same time each night. If you have to stay up super late each night to squeeze in homework and study time, that should be a clue for you that youre taking on too much. Look at your extracurriculars, class load and other activities and see if theres something you could cut back on to free up some relaxation time. Sleep is a non-negotiable essential. 5. Get moving. Richard Kadison, M.D., author of College of the Overwhelmed: The Campus Mental Health Crisis and What To Do About It, says that theres good evidence for milder forms of depression, four days of 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise works as well as antidepressant medication. Exercise doesnt have to mean running on a treadmill for 30 minutes or sweating on a stair master. Students: Dont have time to go to the gym? Go outside and take a 20-minute walk, squeeze in a 30-minute exercise video in between classes or grab a friend and take a bike ride. Only have 10 minutes to spare? Pop in your favorite CD and dance around your dorm room. The laugh youll get from this exercise may be all you need to keep stress at bay. Private Practice Marketing: Why You Should Absolutely Never Do a Free Consultation, Ever, Period
by mary clemmons - Sunday, 8 June 2008, 01:11 AM
Anyone in the world

By Jeff Herring Private practice marketing is tough enough without being encouraged to give away your services. Yet somehow it has leaked into the "popular wisdom" of the coaching world that the way to get new clients is to offer a free complimentary consultation. I do not know where or how this got started, and I really don't care. What I do care about is that the people that I mentor and coach do not offer one! Here's why: The idea behind the free complimentary session is that if someone gets a little bit of your services they are going to want more. While it does make a certain amount of sense, it does not work in the real world. The reason this popular idea does not work is it communicates two things: 1. You communicate that you are willing to give away your services for free. When you do this in a first meeting, you communicate that the rest of your services are free or that your fees are negotiable. 2. You communicate that someone can get all they need in a one time session. While that is not your intention, it is what is communicated. I've heard it a thousand times from those I coach and mentor - very few people that do the complimentary session end up as clients. What to do instead Guess what? We already do an initial consultation. It's usually called a phone chat. In my in person or on the phone coaching, the first contact is most often by phone. The client and I chat for awhile, they tell me what is going on, I tell them what I think we can do together, and we then almost always set the first appointment. And it would NEVER, EVER occur to me to call it a free initial consult. Neither should you. Seven Toxic Effects of Drug Companies
by mary clemmons - Tuesday, 3 June 2008, 09:43 PM
Anyone in the world

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gary_Cordingley] Gary Cordingley I'm the first to admire the strengths and virtues of the free-enterprise model as it applies to drug development and sales. This model encourages drug companies to employ talented people and to take risks in developing new drugs for serious medical problems. But let's face it, current practices also produce undesirable effects. 1. When their drug that was wonderful last month is suddenly no good. It's been entertaining to watch the drug companies suddenly come up with new, patentable variations of their drugs just when their old patents are expiring. For example, since the 1970s, the Abbott company has been doing a dance with different formulations of valproic acid (used for seizures, migraines and bipolar disorder). At first, the brand name was Depakene, but when that patent ran out, Depakene was suddenly no good any more, and Depakote (just barely different enough to be patentable) was the only drug one should think of. Then when Depakote's patent ran out, suddenly it wasn't any good, either. Now Depakote ER (extended release) is the only way to fly. This approach of reworking the old drug into longer-acting formats has worked for other drug companies, too. For example, GlaxoSmithKline has gone through the same dance with their formulations of bupropion for depression, evolving from Wellbutrin to Wellbutrin SR (sustained release) to Wellbutrin XL (extended release). Wyeth, seeing a good thing, followed the same path with venlafaxine antidepressant, going from Effexor to Effexor XR (extended release). It's just an amazing coincidence how these new, suddenly-better drugs emerge just when the old drugs expire and face generic competition. 2. When they make us forget that the older drugs work just fine. Since 1954 we've had effective anti-psychotic drugs to treat schizophrenia, but beginning in the 1990s a series of new anti-psychotics emerged, now called the "atypical" or "novel" anti-psychotics. Suddenly, the older drugs -- all generic and therefore reasonably priced -- were no good. Only the new, patented anti-psychotics were any good and one might even be guilty of malpractice if one prescribed an older drug (or continued prescribing one to a patient who seemed to be doing fine). Indeed, a generation of new psychiatrists cycled through training programs with this concept in mind, rarely writing a prescription for an older drug. The alleged superiority of the newer drugs was tested in the recently completed CATIE (Clinical Antipsychotic Trials in Intervention Effectiveness) study and found to be absent. The study compared four newer drugs to an older drug, perphenazine, and the differences in outcome were minimal to none. 3. When they draw attention away from non-medication treatments. Drug companies sell drugs. Therefore, when it comes to marketing their products, they have no interest in promoting -- or even mentioning -- non-drug treatments. There are no salespeople making the rounds of doctors' offices to remind physicians of the rigorously proved benefits of stress management training for migraine and tension-type headaches, or of cognitive-behavioral counseling for depression. 4. When they hook us on samples. Doctors' offices receive samples of patented (high mark-up) drugs and not of unpatented (low mark-up) drugs. Therefore, patients are steered toward the expensive drugs by means of these "loss-leaders." 5. When they shape medical practice. Drug companies aggressively court the thought-leaders, like faculty members at medical schools, with financial perks such as impressive fees for speaking engagements. They also subsidize medical publications. The effects of these marketing activities on medical practice are not necessarily beneficial to patients. For example, tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) is an expensive clot-dissolving drug approved for use in stroke patients. Its benefits are modest and its risks are real (brain hemorrhage and death). Thoughtful clinicians might reasonably conclude that the benefits of administering tPA do not outweigh the risks. But this is not the message that comes from many thought-leaders and publications. Instead, the implication is that administering this drug is a standard of care, and omitting it constitutes malpractice. 6. When the sales reps push unapproved uses. Recently, a Pfizer sales rep told me that his company's drug, pregabalin, is effective in preventing migraine. He shouldn't have said that. Pregabalin is FDA-approved for treatment of epilepsy and nerve-pain, but not migraine. Although physicians in the U.S. are allowed to prescribe drugs for "off-label" uses, drug companies are prohibited from advertising their drugs for non-approved uses. In fact, Pfizer got in trouble for pushing another drug, gabapentin, for unapproved uses. 7. When doctors don't think critically about what they're doing. This, strictly speaking, isn't a deficiency of the drug companies. But because the only salespeople that doctors see are for expensive, branded drugs, the names of less expensive (or more effective) alternatives may not come to mind when prescriptions are written. Sensory Awareness for Your Relationship
by mary clemmons - Friday, 30 May 2008, 07:12 AM
Anyone in the world

By Tristan Loo One of the biggest problems that couples face in a relationship is the ability to communicate effectively, honestly, and empathetically. Problems that arise have many different ways of being handled and your solution might not be your partners solution. Being emotionally intelligent in a relationship means that you are able to dial yourself into the emotional status of your partner. This requires you to use one of the four pillars of neurolinguistic programmingsensory awareness, or simply making full use of your senses to collect information and make an informed decision on how to act. Observe Without Evaluating When using sensory awareness when communicating to your loved one, its important to observe and collect information using all your senses, but without evaluating the information being collected. Your fears, your assumptions, your beliefs, your wantsall of these can taint the information being collected. Just as a scientist makes sure that his experiments are objective and repeatable by other scientists, so should you remain objective when using sensory awareness to observe the situation. What you are doing when you are observing is carefully noticing things that are different with your partner. What they say, what they do, what they look likeall of these things you are observing, without making any conclusions as to why these changes are taking place. Evaluating the information being collected is particularly bad because of the way we make assumptions. We have an egocentric thought process and we tend to think of ourselves first before others. Therefore when we make assumptions, we tend to base those assumptions off our worst fears or we inject ourselves into that assumption, when in reality, it has nothing to do with us at all. By keeping evaluation separate from observation, we can weigh the information objectively. Communicate Your Findings Because we never really know what our partner is thinking, the only way to understand them is by connecting to them with the power of communication. Let them know the changes you observed and express your genuine concern. Have them explain themselves and focus on listening and asking questions. You will find that your level of connectedness with your partner will increase by using this method. Spring Trout Fishing At Big Bear Lake (And Anywhere Else)
by mary clemmons - Tuesday, 27 May 2008, 10:13 PM
Anyone in the world

By David Witthuhn Spring is the time all of us avid fishermen wait for each year. In Big Bear Lake, it's like fishing in a barrel. I know that sounds unreal to you that live 7,000 feet down the hill. However it is that good! So if your ever in the neighborhood of the San Bernardino Mountains, don't miss this lake. Fishing for trout at this altitude is different only because of the cold water. Did you know that the colder the water is, the better they bite? So the more you can brave the elements, the time to fish is now. Of course everyone uses Rainbow Glitter Powerbait. The only obstacle some have here is the bait freezing and settling to the bottom. However the dissolved oxygen level is spread at all levels in Spring so you might catch a trout anyway. When the bait freezes it is difficult for the hook to set. I modify the bait for easier fishing. I mix the Powerbait with Zekes white floating bait and it softens it up plus prevents freezing. I don't know where you can find Zekes white anymore, I bought a case a few years back. I also bend out the prongs of my treble a bit to protrude slightly on the final ball of bait. I put a big egg sliding sinker and throw that sucker out as far as I can. I barely have time to set my pole down before I hook one. Limits are the rule not the exception. You can fish 24/7 on the lake but the lake does not open until April 1st. That just means the Lake is not patrolled and the markers have not been put out. From shore is fine. I use a 2 1/2 foot leader and it works great. You can get my popular "Fishing Notes" FREE this year at Bear Valley News. It has tips and a hotspot map of the lake. I also have a FREE bonus fish cooking book to enjoy. Remember to tie good knots and set your drag for that big one. I landed an 11 pounder last Spring. Spirit of Islam: A Primer
by mary clemmons - Saturday, 24 May 2008, 01:17 AM
Anyone in the world

By Michael Tummillo Last time I wrote a message on Islam, a Catholic priest said he reported me to the FCC for broadcasting what he referred to as "an eMail hate letter." Several long-time subscribers of various other denominations ALSO gave me a tongue-lashing... just before unsubscribing. In contrast, many others thanked me. It's for them, and all other the seekers of truth, that I write. Not to mention the fact that, since early this morning, the phrase, "We become as the gods we serve" has been rolling around in my spirit. I had no choice but to write this. Moscow, October 25th, 2002, a special forces assault on a Moscow theater after a three-day siege left more than 90 hostages dead, but 750 others were rescued and dozens of their Chechen captors killed. What is the spiritual slant of these Chechens? They're Muslims. Here in the states, a man goes on a killing rampage, randomly murdering 10 innocent people throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Three others, including a 13-year-old boy, were critically wounded. The sniper's last name? Muhammad, a follower of Islam. I could go on and on with worldwide reports of atrocities going on as we speak, direct results of Islamic aggression. It would be depressing. Here's an interesting snippet I found on the REAL Muhammad whose upstart religion is now covering the planet: "Muhammad gained wealth & power when he led raiding parties against innocent caravans. Zealous followers of Muhammad raided the rich caravans traveling to Mecca for polytheistic worship. "In 624 Muhammad and 300 Muslims attack Meccan caravan at Fabr (Vabr) ... In 626 drives out Jewish tribes ... In 628 - 629 attacks Jewish Oasis at Khaibar."
Arabs in History by Bernard Lewis: Harper & Row - 1966 revised edition. After reading that, one might say that terrorism is in the Islamic blood. ALLAH IS LOVE? Muslims today portray Allah as loving and kind yet obligate each follower to obey whenever one of Allahs "spokesman" calls for a jihad or holy war. By the way, according to Paul Harvey on Friday, August 19, 2005, Pakistani schools are now teaching "Jihad" to their children. Since Allah is not the one and only true loving God of which the Bible speaks, suicidal terrorists were assuredly most unpleasantly surprised on September 11, 2001 after they caused the very planes on which they traveled to crash into American buildings. Surprise! They had believed all their lives that they would enter into Paradise and live happily ever after with Allah and Muhammad and a bevy of virgins. They had put "faith in faith" rather than putting faith in Jesus Christ. The object of ones faith is of utmost importance. If Jesus had been that object, rather than the Islamic Spirit of Religion, these attacks would never have happened. You see, if it is not the Holy Spirit who we allow to lead and guide us, SOME spirit WILL gladly fill that position. Spirits of Religion, Murder, Chaos and others, all operate in unison through Islam as they launch their constant assaults against humanity worldwide. These demonic spirits know us quite well and focus their attacks upon mankind's religious nature, i.e., our desire to please a god of some sort in an effort to obtain his blessings and favors ... regardless of that god's blood thirsty tendencies. But you see, right there is where most Christians lose their impact in spiritual warfare: the majority of us don't even BELIEVE in demon spirits as being much more than mere symbols of evil. Satan LOVES that about Christians! BACK TO ISLAM The simplest way to describe Islam is that it is a religion of submission to the will of Allah. To Muslims, Allah is the God that they worship, the one TRUE God. But his character revealed in the Qur'an is not the same as the character of the God of the Bible. If one is to submit to Allah, one must submit to Muhammad and all the people that are leaders of Islam. Faith in Islam is based upon the fundamentals of the Qur'an as well as the lifestyle of Muhammad. True, his historical life was not all that exemplary. According to Islam, however, Muhammad was actually sinless. He is portrayed as having been the holiest person on planet Earth. He is a revered by Muslims worldwide. AYATOLLAH YOU SO! Remember Ayatollah Khomeini from Iran? He was from the head of the Shiite sect and was called 'Ruhollah,' meaning 'the spirit of Allah.' That's what the Iranian people believed. They thought Khomeini was very holy. His words were the laws of Islam though he altered the law and regulations strongly. According to Reza Safa (a former militant Shiite Muslim) in his book Inside Islam, Khomeini's reign of terror was equaled to what happened in the French Revolution. Whoever resisted Khomeini and his regime was resisting Allah. When the Iranians started the war with Iraq, over 1 million Iranians and Iraqis died. Unbeknownst to its followers, the Islamic jihad is a spiritual force that wants to wage war against everything that is from God; everything that is holy MUST be destroyed. It is oppressive and controlling. Again, we have to go back to the fact that Islam means submission, total submission; that it is a theocracy centered on the supreme will of Allah. To refuse obedience to Allah, or to those in leadership who serve him, is to be counted an infidel and an enemy of Islam. TV's talking heads would have us believe that Muslims are very peace-loving people and that there's nothing in Islam that encourages war. Though the majority of Muslims are good people (all the ones I know are great!), in actuality, through warfare and terrorism, Islam has spread since the 7th century devouring nation after nation as Christians neglected the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus to "go and make disciples." There are currently about one billion adherents to Islam. In Safa's book, there is a passage taken from Sura 9:5 of the Qur'an: "When the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other gods wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them and lie in wait for them with every kind of ambush But if they convert and observe prayer and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way." To those who fear the impact of Harry Potter books, THIS is the real book to be concerned about! Are today's fanatics yielding to these teaching? You better believe it. Does the average Muslim know the Qur'an? Most Muslims I've met here in the USA are pretty clueless. Is the typical Muslim even able to read the Qur'an? Fact is, just as is the case with most Christians, the majority of Muslims are ignorant of what their holy book actually teaches. Though some may have an idea regarding its message, the majority are led about by their leaders like lambs to slaughter. Most people cannot understand the Qur'an, because it is in Arabic and they are told you have to understand the Qur'an in Arabic or you don't understand what it's saying at all. For all the Muslim nations that are not Arab, such as Iran, the Muslims must learn the language and study the Qur'an in Arabic. Most won't put forth the effort. They claim Islam they one would choose its favorite soccer team. They follow the instruction of Muslim clerics for a multitude of reasons. Imagine being taught to hate the Christian and the Jew from age 4. Imagine being taught that, to die as a martyr was a quick ticket to Paradise. Folks, this could be a very long war. DO THEY KNOW? Most Muslims are completely unaware of what their holy book teaches, just as most Christians are pretty clueless about the bible. Here are a few things the Qur'an has to say about Jesus: His virgin birth...
When the angels said, 'O Mary, ALLAH gives thee glad tidings of a son through a word from HIM; his name shall be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honoured in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God; 'And he shall speak to the people in the cradle, and when of middle age, and he shall be of the righteous. She said, 'My Lord, how shall I have a son, when no man has touched me? He said, 'Such is the way of ALLAH. HE creates what HE pleases. When HE decrees a thing HE says to it 'Be,' and it is;" -- Qur'an, Surah 3:38-48 His Resurrection...
"Thereupon she pointed to him. They said, 'How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?' Jesus said, 'I am a servant of ALLAH. HE has given me the Book, and has made me a Prophet; 'And HE has made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and has enjoined upon me Prayer and almsgiving so long as I live; 'And HE has made me dutiful towards my mother, and has not made me arrogant and graceless; 'And peace was on me the day I was born, and peace will be on me the day I shall die, and the day I shall be raised up to life again.' That was Jesus, son of Mary. This is a statement of the truth concerning which they entertain doubt." -- Qur'an, Surah 19:30-35 DOES GOD LOVE MUSLIMS? Of COURSE He does. The vast majority are wonderful, loving, hospitable folks who, just like the rest of us, must trust Jesus ALONE for their salvation. We must differentiate between these people and those who have yielded to the spirit of jihad and resist the tendency to prejudge every Middle-Easterner. Typically, once a person yields to the Islamic spirit, they fall within the grasp of a very vengeful, hateful, demonic, Spirit of Death. The determining factors regarding whether or not a person chooses to participate in a jihad might include the leaders one is listening to, and how strictly one decides to adhere to the militant teachings of the Qur'an. Islam actually has two major demonic entities at its helm: First, there is the Spirit of Fear. Islam creates fear and rules within the atmosphere it creates. Second, is the Spirit of Death. War, terrorism, and suicide are all well-represented within every jihad. What are we up against? Safa knows. I recall sitting in Bible College, listening with more than a little synicism to the prophetic warnings of a former 8-year missionary to South Africa. His warning? Islam is coming! At that time, I couldn't even recall SEEING a person from the Middle East there in Arlington, Texas. A billion people currently adhere to Islam, a religion growing at a rate of 50 million a year. How many have yielded to this jihad spirit? No one knows for certain but by the commentary I'm hearing, even within so-called Christian circles, very few "experts" understand what we are up against. We are facing an enormous demonic stronghold - one to which the world, including "Christian America" - has given place. Islam is nothing less than an allegiance to a demon spirit. Though the West is not at war with Islam, Islam has certainly waged war against us. "The weapons we use are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds," 2 Cor 10:4. Islam has permeated countries such as Iran, Iraq, North Africa, Egypt, Algeria and Sudan. France has more mosques than churches and England is being overrun by those of the Muslim faith. Regarding Pakistan, Safa writes in his book that Pakistan has 120 million Muslims, he says. Out of that, 10-15 percent are the radical Muslimsthe Taliban variety. At the very root of Islam is Satanic involvement. Spiritually speaking, Islam is one of the wisest moves of Satan, Safa says. Muslim tradition holds that the angel Gabriel appeared to Muhammad and gave him revelations that formed the Qur'an. When Gabriel appeared to him (Muhammad) he would get a revelation. Sometimes he would see a cloud and at the sight of the cloud he would shiver and go home and hide himself under a blanket, such fear would come upon him, Safa says. Fear, as with death, has been part of Islam since day one. Because the true battle with Islam is in the spiritual realm, Safa believes the Wests reliance upon military might will ultimately fail. ... showing the strength of the arm doesnt stop them it increases their resolve, he says. I have stated from day one, if we killed Sadaam and Osama, there would be a thousand more right behind them. Frankly, if we REALLY wanted to defeat the Islamic spirit, we would bombard theirr children with the gospel through coloring books, candy wrapped in tracts, puppet shows, movies and videos. At the heart of Islam is works-based righteousness. They work so hard to please God, Safa says. The pinnacle of that law is martyrdom. In Islam, Martyrdom is the only way to assure ones salvation. In Inside Islam, Safa tells of the Ayatollah Khomeinis televised appeal for ten thousand volunteers to fight against Iraq. Young boys who volunteered became known as the basiji, meaning, the mobilized. The next day all the boys on the street who had volunteered had a piece of red tape on their foreheads. The basijis volunteered to clear the minefields with their bodies, and they did it. Military leaders would send out as many as five thousand boys at once to run through the fields and trip the mines, Safa writes. Many of the boys were only 12 or 13 years old, he adds. To them, Khomeini gave the promise of behesht (paradise). To symbolize this false promise, he gave them a key which they hung around their necka key with which they could open the gate of heaven. The suicide bombers of 9-11 are just another case in point. These people are already dead before they attack us, Safa says. THE GOOD NEWS? As Islamic terrorism grips the nations, a confident, peaceful Church will be given the Divine opportunity to tell the world about our source of peace amidst the Islamic storm. This is exactly how Reza Safa, an ex-radical Muslim from Iran was saved: through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We can tell them about what it is we've found through the intimacy of our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You DO have that type of relationship with Him, don't you? Reza Safa's quotes from Monday, January 28, 2002 report by ASSIST News Service as well as his book, Inside Islam. CLOSING QUESTIONS & COMMENTS To my thinking Muslim friends, I have these six brief questions to ask regarding Jesus, followed by a few comments... 1) Does the Qur'an say that Jesus was sinless? Was He a perfect man? 2) Does the Qur'an tell Muhammad to repent? 3) The Qur'an says many times that Jesus is the Messiah? Agree? 4) Was Mohammad the Messiah? 5) Where's the body of Jesus? 6) The body of Muhammad is buried in Medina, as you may know. Why did God take Jesus but NOT Muhammad? Strangely, Muslim teachers today allege that Jesus message was given to the Jews only, yet the Qur'an mentions Jesus as being "a sign for all peoples [beings]" (Surat 21:91). While Muslims call Jesus Nabi Isa (literally Jesus the Messenger), the actual message he brought is not recorded in the Quran; it is found in the Gospel. The Qur'an teaches: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob ... to Moses and Jesus and that given to all prophets from their Lord. We make no differences between one and another of them" (Surat 2:136). To justify such contradiction to the Quran, Muslim teachers declare that the Bible, which originally recorded the messages of Abraham ... Moses and Jesus, is no more the Word of God, but has been changed and corrupted. That again is not what the Quran teaches, when it says: "People of the Book! [commonly accepted as referring to the Jews and the Christians] ... stand fast by the Law, the Gospel and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord" (Surat 5:68). These words were written in the seventh century. Many old Bible manuscripts still in existence today are considerably older than that, yet they do not differ from todays Bibles. One would expect Muslim teachers to state when the Bible was supposedly changed, by whom, and for what purposes, but they do not. The Quran actually challenges Muslims: "If you were in doubt as to what we have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee," (Surat 10:94). Which Book? The Book given before the Qur'an, of course! No man can honestly claim, on the basis of the Qur'an, that the Bible has been corrupted. It actually orders: "Ask those who possess the message," (Surat 21:7). Those were the Jews and Christians, the People of the Book. As we already noticed, the Quran explicitly states that the Gospel is the Word of God. And it also states categorically that "no man can change the Words of Allah" (Surat 10:64 and 6:34). By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Day_Kevi]Day Kevi The mobile phone industry in today's world plays host to a torrential assimilation of mobile phones equipped with the latest technological wizardry to make a positive impact in the global market. These mobile phones imbibe the best of the modern technology to outmatch each other in a cut-throat competition for apparent glory. Players from all over the world put in their optimum efforts to ensure the supremacy of their products, and retain the loyalty of consumers. Two of the biggest names in the mobile phone industry are undoubtedly Nokia and Samsung as is evident from the market trends as well as consumer behaviour. Finnish mobile manufacturer Nokia has been an active member in this industry long enough to be aptly dubbed as one of the supporting pillars of its upheaval. The history of mobile phones bears witness to the fact that this manufacturer has given some of the best phones to the world time and again to reach the coveted position that it enjoys today. Right from their first mobile phone ever, Nokia has strived immensely on innovation and technical up gradation to win the hearts and applauds of millions worldwide. Some of the most successful Nokia mobile phones ever are also those that exhibit some trademark qualities of the manufacturer. Nokia phones however, strive more on quality musical abilities, high end cameras, and enriched features to serve the essential purpose of the users. South Korean giant Samsung has the unique attribute of launching more phones in the clamshell category, reflecting both style and substance through them. The manufacturer strives more on looks and design to attract consumers with their innovative creativity. However, concentrating more on the physical segment does not pose as a hindrance in their efforts to offer updated features, as their improvised phones flaunt some of the best existing technological innovations. High quality graphic interpretative cameras, high speed connectivity channels, Internet browsers, etc. make Samsung mobile phones very popular in today's world. By Scott Patterson There are times when you've been dating a woman where you decide to take the plunge into a relationship. You're attracted to each other and you have romantic feelings for one another which goes beyond casual dating. This means you should never let things get dull when you're around one another. As the relationship evolves continue to do exciting things like going on spur of the moment trips and planning interesting activities. Relationship Rule #2- Treat each other as equals Another way to destroy a relationship is to have one dominant partner. If you don't respect her, you'll start to think of her as an inferior. On the other hand, if your woman is the dominant partner she'll think of you in an inferior way. Tips That Can Make Caring For Orchid Plants Easier
by mary clemmons - Thursday, 15 May 2008, 03:04 AM
Anyone in the world

By Diane Crawford Not very many people are willing to even to attempt to grow or care for orchids, as it can be a very daunting task, even for the most skilled gardener. Orchids are very expensive plants to purchase, and since they come from exotic places, can be difficult to care for properly in the more extreme climate of the United States, but it can be done. To really care for your orchids, you have to take the time to learn about them, and their requirements, so that you can provide them with everything they need to grow and be beautiful. You can find a lot of information on the Internet about caring for orchids, or may want to visit your local gardening shop, florists shop, library, or bookstore for even more resources. Once you have read up on caring for orchids plants, you should be ready to try your hand at it. One of the first things you need to do is pay special attention to the type of orchid that you have, so that you can more accurately gauge just how much water and food it needs. Many people are not successful in caring for their orchids because they mistakenly give them too much water, which in some cases, can be even worse than not giving them enough water. Orchids do well in humid environments, but you have to make certain that you don't overdo it. Some types of orchids need extra water, and their soil should always be a little damp to the touch, such as the Miltonia, Cymbidium, Paphiopedilum, and the Odontoglossum varieties. You should check the soil for moisture daily in these orchids, and add water as needed, remembering to do so a little at a time, so as not to overdo it. Other types of orchids do well and only have to have water about one time each week, and you don't really have to worry about keeping the soil moist, as they actually do better in drier conditions. If you have Vanda, Ascocenda, or Phalaenopsis orchids, you don't really have to worry about them as much, at least not when it comes to watering. If you care for other plants, then you know that they require fertilizer to grow properly, and the same is true when it comes to caring for orchid plants. Your best solution when it comes to fertilizing your orchids is to purchase a brand that is designed specifically for orchids, and then make certain that you follow the package directions closely. If you give your orchids too much fertilizer, you could easily damage, or even kill them. Just about all plants require light to grow, and orchids are no exception. To get those full, beautiful blooms, your orchid has to have adequate light. The amount of light that your orchid requires will vary, depending upon the exact type of orchid that you have. Cattleyas and Dendrobiums need more light than any other type, and thrive on it, so if you have these types of orchids, make certain that you have them in an area that gets lots of sunlight throughout the day. Phalaaenopsis and Paphiopedilums do not require as much light, and will do well in almost any area of your home. There are ways to tell if your orchid isn't getting sufficient light. If you look at the leaves of your orchid, and notice that they are very, very dark green, they probably need more light. If they appear red, of have a reddish tint to them, then you probably are allowing them too much light, and should think of moving them to a better location. If you have a difficult time placing your orchids in a good spot, you can purchase a specially designed light, that can provide them with artificial sunlight, and in fact, many gardeners prefer this type of light, as they are in control of it, and can monitor exactly how much exposure their orchids get each day. If you do a good job in caring for your orchids, they could live for many, many years. As your orchids grow, you will probably need to plan on repotting them about every other year or so. When you repot an orchid, it is important that you don't do it while the orchid is blooming, as you could possibly kill or damage your plant. It is important that you choose a pot that is large enough to hold the orchid and allow it room to grow, and that before you replant the orchid in a new pot, you carefully remove any dead leaves or roots from the orchid. Once you transplant the orchid into its new pot, you should leave it alone for about a week, and then carry on with your usual water and fertilizer routines. You will find that caring for your orchids really isn't that difficult, once you learn how to do it properly. Once you have a routine down for providing adequate light, food, and water, your orchid could essentially live as long as you....imagine that! A lot goes into caring for orchid plants.
