College Success in a Study Abroad Program
by mitsuko ladymon - Sunday, 9 December 2007, 01:43 AM
Anyone in the world

By Jagdish Khubchandani I have struggled all my life with books. Some of my colleagues were self proclaimed smart workers and some were modest enough to say that they are hardworking but dumb. In my case I tried both smart work and hard work but, unfortunately neither of the strategies worked. I guess success in college is a goal achieved by maintaining a balance. Everyone cannot have a balance but definitely everyone wants to be successful in accomplishing their goals. Your goals while you are in an international college / University range from passing a certain number of courses to getting a degree, from eventually getting a job to getting a job that is best. Your goals may range from improving yourself personally, financially and intellectually to keeping your family happy. Whatever your goal is, the bottom line is that you want to make an impact on the college scenario by staying on top while you are away from your home country. The following suggestions cannot guarantee success in a study abroad program but they will improve the probability of success if followed Be Organized. To succeed at an American college / European University, a student must be organized. The college will have a counseling department with advisors who can help the student structure the best program. It is then up to the student to handle four or more courses at once, write and hand in term papers on time, and prepare for examinations. Try to be different things to different people. Every professor and every employer you face in your quest for getting the best in a foreign university will be different with varied expectations from you. I suggest that all students should invariably maintain a good relation with the instructors and moreover you should be able to find out their academic and professional interests through your departments or websites of your instructors. It pays to have a good knowledge of what the individual professors are looking for, which professors are difficult or have personality problems, which professors are well loved or generate a lot of loyalty among the students. The more experienced students can be helpful sources for this information. Always abide by the rules and laws. Throughout a college student's school career, he or she must pay careful attention to deadlines, school regulations and the paperwork the school bureaucracy requires. Fees should be paid on time. Lack of attention to paperwork and deadlines can cause tremendous problems, especially for foreign students. Handle your coursework with utmost Care. In college go straight and turn right. A major part of college success involves the choice your curriculum. There are various forms you have to fill before you actually start the course or during the course. These forms are predictive of your graduation plans and decide your future in a study abroad program. It is important to consider the employment situation after college, or whether or not graduate study is planned. Advance planning will give the college student a good career foundation. by mitsuko ladymon - Saturday, 8 December 2007, 08:17 AM
Anyone in the world

By Josh Neumann Today, many people want free workout plans to help them
achieve their fitness goals. As the obesity level rises at an alarming rate,
more and more people are realizing the necessity of exercising and its overall
benefits to their health. One of the free workout plans thats increasing in
popularity today is Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a workout that focuses on breathing
habits and techniques that will benefit your health right away. One of the
great things about Tai Chi is that it can be done by virtually anybody,
regardless of their current fitness level. Most free workout plans are only designed for someone whos
in great shape to implement. For example, overweight people usually cant play
basketball or baseball very well; they need anther exercise routine to help them
reach their fitness goals. Physically, Tai Chi exercises help promote flexibility and
improve metabolism, circulation and cardiovascular health. These physical
elements are crucial to overall health and vitality. On a more intellectual level, Tai Chi helps improve your
overall posture, balance, and coordination by improving your relaxation and
focus. It assumes that your body is governed by channels of bio energy,
although this certainly isnt a concept unique to Tai Chi. Breathing techniques for the workout plans are based on the
belief that breathing collects and distributes energy. The inhaling stores the
energy, while exhaling delivers the energy. Tai Chi students are taught to breathe abdominally- below
the navel. This gives the body the feeling of strength and stability. It is
all based on matching your breathing habits to the movements of the body. Someone whos becomes proficient at Tai Chi can soon see
these breathing techniques becoming second nature in their everyday activities,
and will feel more relaxed throughout the day. Often times, one of the biggest
killers to overall productivity in the workplace and the home is the stress most
people feel on a day to day basis. When you embark on a Tai Chi workout plan,
you can reduce and even eliminate this stress, and see a great increase in your
overall productivity as a result. To achieve the maximum benefits of these free workout
plans, you should use Tai Chi as a martial art. Believe it or not, it as
actually designed originally as a form of combat training in China. When you
use this workout as a martial art, you achieve all the above benefits while also
deriving internal toughness and strength. These are merely a few of the many health benefits that
this free
workouts plans have to offer. The truth is, Tai Chi is great for anybody of

Treatment Of Bills Receivable In The Accounting Process
by mitsuko ladymon - Thursday, 6 December 2007, 11:05 PM
Anyone in the world

By Michael Russell Usually this agreement entered into by the buyer stipulates that payment must be made within 30 days. In recent years, the tremendous increase in the use of credit cards, issued by financial institutions to their customers, has done much to simplify these accounting transactions. Bills, although no longer widely used, are still important in the wholesale trade and in foreign transactions. Bills have certain characteristics that make them negotiable documents. A financial document is negotiable if it can be transferred from one person to another. This is achieved by the holder endorsing the document and delivering it to the other party. Bearer documents are transferred by delivery alone. To be negotiable, a financial document or bill must have the characteristic that, under given circumstances, the owner's rights are unalienable, even though his predecessor's rights were defective or invalid. A bill is a negotiable document in the accounting process. It is an unconditional, written instruction issued by one person to another whereby the latter is instructed to pay on demand, at a specified or specifiable future date, a certain sum of money, either to the order of the person specified, or to the bearer. There are at least three parties in the accounting bill records, namely the drawer, the drawee and the payee or bearer. The three parties need to be different persons; the same person can be party to the bill in more than one capacity. For example, the drawer can specify that the money must be paid to himself, therefore he is both the drawer and payee simultaneously. The definition of a bill stated that it could be made out to 'bearer', in which case any person in possession of the bill on the due date could claim payment from the drawee. This means that the right to receive payment of a bill can be transferred to another person merely by handing it to him or her. If the word 'bearer' is crossed out and replaced by 'order' (pertaining to the possible negotiability of the document) it means that the drawee is instructed to pay the amount concerned to the payee, or to any person specified by him in writing, or to any holder subsequently specified. Such written specification must appear on the bill itself (usually on the back) and is know as an endorsement. Therefore, within the accounting process is bill is considered as a negotiable document. When an enterprise enters into a large number of bill transactions, it is impractical to make a separate journal entry for each accounting transaction. In such cases, a separate journal with the necessary columns is used as a subsidiary journal. Accepted bills are valuable documents and, as in the case of cash, must be controlled properly in an accounting system. They must be safely stored immediately upon receipt. The balance on the bills receivable accounting control account must be compared regularly with the items in the bills book and with the bills on hand. Bills receivable are current assets and are shown in the accounting balance sheets as such, together with other current assets. They are shown at face value, less any possible provision for doubtful recovery. Bills receivable are often combined with debtors as a single amount, shown as debtors and bills. As in the case of debtors, provision should be made for any bills that could possibly be irrecoverable. Tired of Relationship Break-ups? Then Marry YourSELF First
by mitsuko ladymon - Wednesday, 5 December 2007, 11:18 PM
Anyone in the world

By Ken Donaldson The New York Times(http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/27/fashion/sundaystyles/27LOVE.html?oref=login) printed an interesting article about relationship break-ups in this past Sundays (11/27) edition. The author, Raya Kuzyk, was quite proud of how she assertively handled a break-up earlier this year. To do this, Raya spent much time in introspection, thoughtfully wrote out her reasons and the justifications thereof and even created graphs and used pictures all to apparently prove her point. A job well done, RayaSorta. Raya could have saved herself much time, energy and, especially, grief and heartache had she made some guidelines for herself before the relationship got started. Of course she would also need to commit and follow-through with these guidelines and used a support system if she was having trouble following the guidelines. Raya even writes, A breakup of a higher standard than the one to which I would have been held had I ended our relationship when I first realized we had no futureTechnically that would have been from the get-go: Nick was engaged to another woman. How did Raya miss that one? Why did she go forward anyway? What was she thinking? What did her friends tell her? This is, however, the day and age of the microwave relationship. Meet the person, fall in love quickly, move in together, THEN get to really know each other. Of course the inevitable then usually happens: The painful break-up. Could Raya and others have prevented these types of break-ups? Yes, and by taking some very simple proactive steps. You can first figure out a bit about who you are and why you are here. This is commonly referred to as your Life Purpose. Along with that you could also define your values, meaning what it is that is most important to you. I know that these are not small or even easy processes, but you might notice that one of the best-selling books today (A Purpose Driven Life) is all about finding ones purpose. There is more of a conversation about this today than there has been in a long time. With the coming of life and relationship coaches such as Dr. Phil and TV talk-show heroes and heroines like Oprah, we are beginning to have these deeper conversations more often. But lets get back to Raya. The other and perhaps most important step Raya could have taken was to make herself a relationship template. This is would be a list of desirable qualities and traits that she would seek in a romantic partner. In addition, it would include the absolute deal-makers and deal-breakers. These are the absolutely got to have with no compromise or negotiation (deal-makers) and the absolutely will not accept or tolerate under any circumstances, ever (deal-breakers) traits, qualities and deficiencies. When you have such a list it is quite easy to check in with yourself to at least see if the deal-makers or deal-breakers are present. But lets not fault Raya too much, after all she, like most of us, didnt have relationship skills 101 in junior high, high school or college. When you dont know how to go about something, then you experiment, right?? Hopefully Raya learned from this experiment and will take action to prevent similar situations from arising in the future. However, if Raya does not figure out her purpose, values and relationship boundaries, there is a very high likelihood that she will not get the relationship she truly desires. As with many people, she is likely to settle and then at some point discover what doesnt work, then get divorced. Its easy to see why we have a divorce rate that hovers around 50%. So perhaps you can learn something very valuable from Raya. Get to know you first: Where you are going in your life, what is truly important to you, and then, what are the relationship parameters you have to have. Yes, you could marry yourself first! Novel concept, huh??!! Ken Donaldson has been based in Tampa Bay offering counseling, coaching, and educational programs since 1987. Business Loans - The Food For Your Business
by mitsuko ladymon - Wednesday, 5 December 2007, 03:45 AM
Anyone in the world

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Arsha_Hanif]Arsha Hanif Tired of the nagging boss and want to start a new venture or is your organization sick or all your money is involved in the market? For all this you want to raise capital; in fact, raising capital is a complex and frustrating process. However, if you are informed and have planned effectively, raising money for your business will not be a painful experience and here Business loans are the best way out. Business loans are dependent on various factors like the business plan, the time period of loan and of course the collateral attached. It requires a lot of paper work to be done and hence is a messy affair. As with everything, pros and cons are also the part of this game. Business loans have an advantage in the form of flexibility, tax advantage as interest payments are exempted from tax, ownership issues, though you sell an interest of your business, you retain the ownership of your venture. [http://www.chance4finance.co.uk/secured-business-loans.html]Secured Business loans are available not only for starting a new business but also for expanding an existing business, buying an interest in a professional partnership or business, injecting capital into a business and its development. Business loans are of two types, secured having the collateral attached and unsecured having no security in the form of assets. In case the borrower is not able to return the money credited, the financial organisation is permissible by law to confiscate the assets of the borrower. Unsecured business loan is a better idea because it saves the borrower from the clutches of the lender as he does not have to offer his property as collateral and also the lender does not have any say in the business decisions. Another major factor, which governs the loan, is the rate of interest, in case the rate of interest is less than your profit margin tends to increase and you are in position to pay off your loan fast and get yourself going.
